Taare Zameen Par

Taare Zameen Par ~ “Like Stars on Earth” (released 21 December 2007) is another movie from Aamir Khan that I adore after Three Idiots and Ghajini. It is really really really a touching and beautiful movie. It tells about an eight-year-old-boy, named Ishaan, who is dyslexic but blessed with excellent painting talent. Taare Zameen Par received numerous awards, including the Filmfare Best Film Award for 2008 and the 2008 National Film Award for Best Film on Family Welfare. It was India's official entry for the 2009 Academy Awards Best Foreign Film but it failed to progress to the nominations short list.

Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) had very poor academic performance that led his parents to send him to a boarding school which was a very far from home. There, Ishaan felt so sad that his family abandoned him because he was not as brilliance as his brother. He then lost his cheerfulness and passion in painting. Even I saw him as a little zombie.

Then Mr. Ram Shankar Nikumb (Aamir Khan) came as the new art teacher. He suspected that Ishaan had dyslexia. He went to Ishaan’s parents and explained them about Ishaan’s disability, whereas Mr. Nikumb was also dyslexic. At school, Mr. Nikumb taught him reading and writing by using remedial techniques (developed by dyslexia specialist).

At the end of school year, Mr. Nikumb organized an art fair for the staff and students. And Ishaan came out as the winner with his creative style while Mr. Nikumb was the runner up by painting Ishaan’s portrait. Both paintings were made as yearly book’s covers. Above all, Ishaan had huge improvement in his academic that made his parents speechless and were thankful to Mr. Nikumb.

I should also be thankful to Norma, from whom I got this movie, though I suffered swollen eyes after crying badly ^^

Ishaan was kissed by his mother before he went to school. It’s when Ishaan still attended public school. I’m touched by his mom’s love. Although our mom is fierce, she keeps taking care of her child when he is hurt or sick.

For Ishaan, the letters were dancing. It made him difficult to read words.
This was a painting in Ishaan’s bed room. Mr. Nikumb saw it when he visited Ishaan’s parents. Wonderful painting!
Mr. Nikumb was guiding Ishaan to write recognizing letters.
Ishaan’s creative painting which won the first place.
Mr. Nikumb’s portrait of Ishaan.
It’s on the stage after the head master announced Ishaan as the winner of the art fair. He ran to Mr. Nikumb and hugged him gratefully. Even I wanted to cry just to see this picture of how Ishaan and Mr. Nikumb were crying.
Freeze ending scene when Ishaan was going to home with his family for school holiday. He ran, again, to Mr. Nikumb who tossed him into the air.

REBELDE WAY

Last many days my friend, Novalia ‘Colluci’, messaged me. She asked if the wife of Michele Buble is the actress who played as Mia Colluci on Rebeldeway. On the next day I googled and found out that she is indeed Luisana Lopilato!

TTAKJI

Ttakji ( 딱지 ) is a Korean traditional game using square-folded-paper aiming to flip your opponent’s ttakji. Men and women, children and adults can play it. I have watched Running Men enough to be curious about this game. It seems simple and easy but … First, of course, you need to make your own ttakji by the following: STEP 1: You can use any kind of paper. Prepare two pieces of square-paper in 21 cm. do the following steps for both paper pieces. Fold it into half forming a rectangle. STEP 2: Fold the top corner down and the opposite’s corner up forming a parallelogram. STEP 3: Again fold the top corner down and the opposite’s corner up forming a square. STEP 4: Put one paper on the other. Fold the triangle-corner inside one by one in anti-clockwise-movement so they hold each other. STEP 5: Slip the last triangle-corner inside so they don’t lose. Mark one side. Tadaa! You have a ttakji now ^^ Let’s challenge a frie...
