Happy wedding my beloved woman: it’s the note
Ching Theng left for Chia Yi.

That phrase refers to something or someone
that one cherishes above all others.
I had just finished watching a Taiwanese
movie “You are the Apple of My Eye” (2011). It’s funny, romantic, touching but
did not make me cry (*must be 17+). It tells about Ko Ching Teng, a mischievous
prankster (he is cute ^^) who fell in love with a beautiful smart girl named
Shen Chia Yi.
Doing m***n in class,
Ching Teng got punishment so he had to sit in front of Chia Yi. One day in
English class, Ching Teng secretly lent his book to Chia Yi and got detention
for her. Touching by his generosity, Chia Yi started to give him paper work so
he studied at home. Every morning, by punching her blue ink pen to Ching Teng’s
back, Chia Yi asked the paper work back to be corrected. It did improve Ching
Teng’s study ability.
This is why Ching Teng’s uniform had lot of
blue dots stain on its back.

After graduation, they went to different
universities. However, he called her every night from the pay phone. They also
hanged out and had fun together some day. Frankly, they never dated. Even when
Ching Teng confessed to her, he refused to hear Chia Yi’s answer. This way, he
could love her always, he said (so touching ^^).
They confessed their feeling on the paper
balloon.

One day, Ching Teng held fighting competition
in his campus. He fought to show Chia Yi what he was good at and got injured.
In fact, she didn’t appreciate it and called him childish. It hurt his pride
and they fought under the rain. Since then, they didn’t contact each other.
2 years later, there was earthquake on their
cities. Ching Teng called her to make sure she was fine. Frankly, she was
already with another man (even it is shown on the scene where she was holding
to someone’s arm). During the call, they remembered their past time while
looking at the night sky. They talked about parallel world where Ching Teng and
Chia Yi might be dated each other and were happy. They just envy for the
thought.
A year later, Ching Teng got a call from Chia
Yi telling him that she was getting married. *Oh, I thought they would make up
after the call but they didn’t. He attended her wed party with his other old
friends. “When you really love a woman, you are not willing to see her marry
another man and won’t pray for them.
However, when he was watching the beautiful
bride Chia Yi and the groom walking pass them, he said in his heart, “But I was
wrong. When you love a woman, you are happy when she found her true man. You
will pray for them to be happy forever.”
*That’s touching ^^ but I really don’t want
to do that! Lolz ^^
Surprising facts:
1. This movie is based on semi-autobiographical novel “The
Girl We Chased Together in Those Years” by Taiwanese author Mr. Giddens Ko. He
also directed this movie himself and it’s his first debut direction.
2. Mr. Giddens’ father played in this movie surely as Ko
Ching Teng’s dad.
3. Taiwanese actor and singer Ko Chen Tung (born 1991)
played as Ko Ching Teng. Frankly he was arrested on August 2014 for drug use.
4. Michelle Chen –
actress and singer, who played as Chia Yi, was born in 1983. *How young she looks!
